  1. Understand background and founding principles of Lean
  2. Learn how this globally recognised methodology has evolved from the automotive industry and have been adopted by other industries such as banking, retail and construction
  3. You will learn how to spot waste, categorise it and most importantly how to eliminate it
  4. We will show the difference between value add activities and non value add activities and how overburden, unevenness in processes can cause major problems
  5. The course also includes downloadable waste log so you can start to apply these skills quickly and conduct your own waste (Gemba) walk
  6. You will learn about how Lean principles have shaped continuous improvement and how ‘CI’ has become a mainstay for modern businesses around the world
  7. You will see an overview of the essential tools needed to build a culture of continuous and how the can be applied to tackle specific problems
  8. You will learn about the following core tools:
  9. Performance Management – See how performance management can be applied to measure the right things at the right time leading to improved productivity, efficiency, and team engagement
  10. Visual management – We will demonstrate how visual management can used to create standards, ensure consistent working and help maintain a safe, efficient workplace
  11. Standardised work – An overview of standardised working is also covered in this chapter, giving you the basics of this tools and how it can be applied to reduce variability and create consistent working
  12. Practical Problem Solving – An overview of the key steps needed to apply practical problem solving in an environment
  13. 5S & Workplace Organisation – This well established member of the Lean toolkit is essential for creating a safe, efficient workplace and ensuring it remains that way. You see an overview of this tool and how it can be applied
  14. Process & Value Stream Mapping- Learn the difference between a process map and a value stream map.
    At the end of the course there will be a short interactive knowledge check to help embed your learning
